Born 1974 in Teheran, Iran. She takes wonderful photographs of contemporary Iran and other inspiring places. They bring you into a glorious collision of myth and reality, fiction and simulation, tradition and modernity, East and West. Always beautiful and uneasy in a cool precise manner. She sometimes commissions her colour photographs into large-scale paintings or small objects. She lives in Zurich and has made a name for herself with loads of art awards, non-stop globetrotting residencies, and Shahzad.
